Introduction
Hello
Thank you for being here:)
I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself and tell you more about me.
This blog will be containing information about me, what I do, who I am, what I like etc.
My name is Filip Pasieka (like you haven’t guessed it by the site title:)
I am 46 and I photograph, I mean I photograph a lot.
In 2023 I dusted off my old camera, bought a 50mm 1.4 lens and quickly fell in love with photography.
Obviously I started with photographing family, landscape etc. That escalated quickly to more specific genre of photography and I discovered macro.
All the insects, flowers, anything small and interesting I could find was on my “want to photograph” list.
Firs set up I’ve used was a Nikon D750 with Sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro lens.
It was a great set up and I’ve captured some good shots with it. The only problem I had was the size and weight of the kit. Full frame sensor, DSLR camera plus not so small lens, don’t forget about the flash and diffuser. Made me want to venture into a different camera a system.
After my research I realised what I needed was an Olympus camera.
This relatively small camera had one massive advantage comparing to others.
In macro photography we run into quite few problems, first is the light, second is shallow depth of field.
To get a small subject in focus you have to use, what we call: focus bracketing. Basically take a series of images focusing from front to back of the subject, then using computer program stack them together so that the final image is completely in focus from front to back.
Olympus cameras have a feature of focus bracketing so it was a no brainer for me to switch to Olympus (now Om Systems) camera.
This made my macro journey soooo much easier!!!
This camera can also be used for other genres of photography of course.
I use it for my landscape, product photography as well as video as it has amazing features for videography as well.
Moving on:)
Apart from macro I really enjoy other exploring photography genres like: landscape, portrait, product and street photography. The last one gives me a lot of excitement as you never know what you are going to witness and hopefully capture.
Product photography is great as you can use your imagination to create amazing shots in a comfort of your own home.
I will be writing separate blogs about each photography genre as if I wanted to squeeze it all into one, it would be way too much to read haha.
My idea for the blog is to keep it short and sweet, so that you don’t get bored too quickly :)
Many thanx for reading and I hope you liked my first ever blog.
I’ll try my best to post a new one as often as I can.
Thanx again
